Two activation flaws


I just signed up today and hit two issues:

  1. The page for creating an account says a password must be at least 8 characters, but it silently failed when I entered passwords longer than 20 characters.  Longer passwords should be permitted, and failing that then they should say passwords cannot exceed 20 characters.
  2. After my number was ported I received APN setup instructions by text message, and a link to https://www.mintmobile.com/setup-for-android  - but the APN instructions in the text and on that web page were different from each other.  I contacted support to ask which instructions should be used, and got directed to a third site, https://bestmvno.com/apn-settings/mint-sim-apn-settings/   I used the directions there and everything seemed to work.

The first issue isn’t that serious, I would guess most people use short passwords.  The second one, though, is ridiculous.

...actually, the instructions from https://bestmvno.com did not work for me.  The instructions I received by text worked properly.  With the bestmvno instructions I could send pictures and use mobile data, but not participate in group messaging.  With the instructions by text, all three seemed to work.

...actually, the instructions from https://bestmvno.com did not work for me.  The instructions I received by text worked properly.  With the bestmvno instructions I could send pictures and use mobile data, but not participate in group messaging.  With the instructions by text, all three seemed to work.
