Is there any way to get visual voicemail to work? I recently switched from fi where it worked fine but it does not work for mint. I tried the 3rd party app but that will not activate either. Any help would be appreciated.

I made a mistake in my first post! My phone is a Nokia 6.1
My wife has a pixel 3a, and after i enabled WC both thru Mint (pic) & the phone HER visual voicemail started working. She LOVES it, so I decided to try to get mine to work. I enabled WC both thru Mint & the Nokia. WiFi calling started working - which is a plus, but the visual voicemail still gives the "VVM can not be activated on this network." I checked the APN settings just now (thanks for your suggestion):

T-Mobile US 260
fast.t-mobile.com

T-Mobile US 260 IMS

T-Mobile MMS
TMUS

Here's a site I found about What is an APN and how do I change it?
https://www.androidcentral.com/what-apn-and-how-do-i-change-it

Here are example settings the site gives for Mint Mobile:

  • Name - Ultra
  • APN - Wholesale
  • Proxy - (leave blank)
  • Port - 8080
  • Username & Password - (leave blank)
  • Server - (leave blank)
  • MMSC - http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
  • MMS Proxy - (leave blank)
  • MMS Port - (leave blank)
  • MCC - 310
  • MNC - 260
  • Authentication Type - (leave blank)
  • APN Type - default,supl,mms
This doesn't look ANYTHING like the three settings I found on my phone (above). These settings were probably put there when I activated on MINT using the Mint-supplied SIM card since I bought an unlocked phone from Amazon.

So, do I need to add or change some of the APNs? or what's my next move?

I was able to follow the instructions on this web page: https://www.mintmobile.com/setup-for-android/. It tells exactly how to change your APN settings. I think I had to hunt a little to find those. On my phone ( a Pixel 3), I followed this path:

Settings>Network & Internet>Mobile network>Advanced>Access Point Names [way down at the bottom of the page]>Ultra. Open Ultra & modify according to Mint's instructions (same as what you entered above).

The path will probably be different for your Nokia, but hopefully it is somewhat similar.

Hope this helps.
I used to be a software guy. Sorry if that's TMI.
Ok I see now that the three "settings" I entered above from my Nokia 6.1 are simply the NAMES of the APN settings. Kinda like Through the Looking Glass - That's not the song it's the NAME of the song. Anyway. Any suggestions?

OH, sorry, forgot to ask as well, what are you using for APN settings? That is a make or breaker, as well. I haven't used a Mint APN since the first week of being with them, and the service has berm oh so much better.

Hmm , I was going to mention a lot of times the WC will be the culprit. Have you enabled WC both thru Mint (pic) & your phone? I have just the regular old Pixel and that solved my problem with it.

Otherwise, the less attractive workaround would be one of the third-party apps found in the play store. Let me know if that doesn't work and I can try and do some investigating further before we give up and 3rdPart this bitch out 🙂
pixel 3a - wifi calling works but visual voicemail "can not be activated on this network" Any ideas?
Hi there, sorry for being 7 months late to the party.... Were you ever able to get VVM to work appropriately with your Pixel device? If not which Pixel are we dealing with?
