Is there a way to port a number after my account is activated?

I bought and activated a B3G3 plan last month but didn’t port my number at that time.  The owner of the account wouldn’t release it (long story, messy break up).  I’ve had the number for 14 years and my kids know it and I would really love to be able to use it.  I’ve finally gotten it released, but now Mint Tech Support is saying that it’s not possible and I’ll just have to cancel my plan.  I mean, i will do that if I need to, but I’d rather not.

Any ideas?

assuming your old number is still active, would that work for you until your b3g3 is up?

That is a great idea and looked like it was going to work, but when I tried, it says, “oops, that number is from an area we don’t support”.  I’ll keep looking though, Thank you!

How long is your current plan with Mint? If it is only a 3 month plan I would eat the cost and start a new plan if you really want to keep that number. Mint has good promotions going on for a new plan at the moment, may offset your loses.
