Not receiving SMS / MMS from some numbers

Newly activated account (24 hours).  Most features are working fine, but I am not receiving SMS/MMS from some numbers.  Sending SMS/MMS seems OK.   Sending and receiving SMS/MMS from Google Voice and automated systems works as well.

Known problem numbers are on an AT&T MVNO (RedPocket).  Those users do not have problems messaging other (non-Mint) recipients. 

Messages from Google FI users are also not being received.  Again, those users have no issues with non-Mint recipients.

Have tried deleting contact(s), factory reset on phone, clearing data/cache on texting app, toggling airplane mode all to no avail.    Am on the default fast.t-mobile APN (unchanged).  Using the default texting app for this device (Google Messages). 

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I noticed that the RCS number verification (Messenger: Settings>Chat Features: Status) still listed as ‘trying to verify’ my number. Eventually (~ 36 hours after activation) the number verified and messaging began operating as expected, so good for now.
