Question

Weak signal at home

I do get weak cellular signals at home, sometimes, non-existent. I don't have wi-fi calling phone.

Is there an equipment to boost the cellular signals for MintSim? I see equipment for T-Mobile but not sure they will work for Mint.

Whats is the model? And where did you get it from?

I have a 4G LTE Signal Booster Personal CellSpot that I received from T-Mobile for free being the cell coverage is very bad in my area. It works great with-in a radius of about 100 ft. Very happy with it. Even works in the basement of your home.

My cell phone has dual sim cards capability. The first sim is the t-Mobile sim card the second is a Mint Mobile. The T-Mobile Signal Booster Personal CellSpot does not help with the Mint Mobile signal, still very poor coverage to no signal at all.

Hello,
I purchased one of the boosters you recommend here, and it doesn't seem to be able to connect to T-Mobile...is there some configuration that is required?
Interested in seeing if you get this working. @sdamron If so this is a great investment for just 40.

It is officially working. It took quite a long time to get synched up with TMO towers. I bought mine off of Amazon.com for $50. My house is a bit over 3000 sq. ft and I have between 2 and 4 bars (iPhone8, so 4 bars is full signal) through the whole house. Totally worth it. I think the hardest part was finding a good signal for the receiver...we have crumby coverage here.
I am having the same problem with weak signal. If I purchase the t mobile signal booster does it have to be activated on a tmobile account? Or is it just a plug and play? Please help!
Why is nobody who says they own this "Cellspot" device helping out?

I also have yellow status light flashing which means "Unable to activate the device with T-mobile network".

Hi there, with the signal booster, it's self-configuring, install-true plug and play. No professional installation and cabling needed. We do recommend checking T-Mobile's coverage map beforehand to see if there is fair TMobile coverage in the area to boost. https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/coverage-map

Unfortunately, we do not have a guide to troubleshoot and recommend reaching out to the manufacturer so they can assist with the setup process.

The coverage map shows 4G LTE at my house, yet this T-Mobile Cellspot has been plugged in for days now and still giving the error "Unable to activate the device with T-mobile network".

Also my phone has 1 bar and drops calls all the time.

What other useful info can you provide?
So I purchase the signal booster off of eBay. Took a while to activate but my service is prefect now! As long as you can get one bar of service the signal booster will help I'm now receiving phone calls and text messages at home.
I've wasted so much money trying to get service with this company. The service was completely fine during the trial and my first three months but when I paid for a year the service went to non-existent.

The T-Mobile 4G LTE signal booster works great it does take awhile for it to activate though. I purchased mine on eBay for 39 99 and it had free shipping. all you have to do is plug it up set the unit in the window set the other unit on the other side of the house and in about 2 hours or less the system should work for you I'm so happy I finally have service!
Thank you RoyceWashington! I'll get one of those signal boosters soon!

Don't do it. They don't work. I'm sending mine back to my eBay seller on Monday.

I agree with khtm. dont waste your money. I have a 4G LTE Signal Booster Personal CellSpot that T-Mobile gave me for free. Wroks great for our T-Mobile service but doesn't help or work for our Mint Moible service. I've have both T-Mobile as my main number and Mint Mobile as the second line.

Dual SIM phones give priority to the first Sim slot. The 2nd will ALWAYS be on 2g. Try swapping the Sims around, don't forget to change the apn for the mint Sim in the 1st spot, and reboot. You should see an improvement after a short time.
Very interesting and good to know. I will switch the two sims and let you know how it works.
Thanks
First off the "Alcatel T-Mobile 9961 Personal 4G LTE Cellspot Cell Phone Signal Booster" is not a signal
booster, but is a mobile cell tower (and as such must be register with TMobile. If you buy from a third party and it works, it's because the previous user had it registered. Also Tmobile does not sell these units, it
leases them to Tmobile customers. It is not legal to sell them. See this:

If you want a cell booster buy something like the Wilson/WeeBoost and those will likely work.
Of course the range is very limited, and work best in cars, trucks, and RV's...

This is exactly what is happening to me.
Two things:

1) What benefit would MintSim have with making your service poor once you've signed up for a year? It makes no sense.

2) There's so many different opinions here, does the signal booster (not cellspot) actually work or not?
